West coast BOOK TOUR

Chevalier's Books in Los Angeles hosts the first West Coast book event to promote and celebrate the publication of The Moment Book.

Christine joins fellow authors at Chervalier's Books to read her chapter and sign copies of The Moment.

THE MOMENT BOOK

Christine's essay (about her last night working as an exotic dancer) is published in The Moment (Harper Collins).

The Red Umbrella Diaries

Christine will be performing at The Red Umbrella Diaries in New York on November 4, reading an excerpt from her forthcoming memoir about her life as an exotic dancer in Waikiki from 1987 to 1996.

The Red umbrella Diaries is a monthly storytelling series in New York, where people who’ve tangled with the sex industry tell personal stories about the complications that arise when you mix sex and money.

The event is hosted by Audacia Ray, author of Naked on the Internet: Hookups, Downloads, and Cashing in on Internet Sexploration.

Past performers include Jillian Lauren author of  the New York Times Best Seller Some Girls: My Life in a Harem (Plume) and Stephen Boyer, artist and author of Ghosts (Bent Boy Books).

Member of the Month: National Association of Memoir Writers

Christine is awarded October Member of the Month from the National Association of Memoir Writers.

The National Association of Memoir Writers (NAMW) is a membership organization that invites memoir writers from all over the world to connect, learn, and become inspired about writing their stories. The goal of their organization is to help memoir writers feel empowered with purpose and energy to begin and develop their life stories into a publishable memoir, whether in essay form, a book, a family legacy, or to create a blog.

The Ellen Show NOH8 Wish

Christine celebrates the historical overturn of California  Proposition 8 by founding The Ellen Show NOH8 Wish, an on-line Facebook and Twitter campaign. Her dream is to help The NOH8 Campaign creators Adam Bouska and Jeff Parshley gain even more public recognition to a cause she feels passionately about: equality for all.

Her mission is to attract the producers of The Ellen Degeneres Show (and Ellen Degeneres herself ) so that Ellen and her wife, Portia de Rossi will agree to a personal NOH8 photograph taken live on the air.
